ABOUT LIPRELISH

Hi, I’m Tamara — the heart behind LipRelish.

​

LipRelish didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a mom trying to take care of her son.

 

When my son was in elementary school, he constantly licked his lips. The more he licked them, the more dry and chapped they became. It bothered me. I didn’t just want something that would temporarily coat his lips — I wanted something that would actually nourish them and be good for them.

So I started researching.

​

I studied oils. I learned about butters. I paid attention to what was skin-friendly and safe. Like most moms, I just wanted to give my child the best I could. So I began making his lip balms myself.

​

They were everywhere. In backpacks. On dressers. In coat pockets. And more than once, in the washing machine because I forgot to check his pockets before laundry. I can’t tell you how many batches I remade because of that.

​

But what started as love for my son slowly turned into something more.

​

After perfecting lip balms for him, I began creating my own personal lip glosses. Around that time, one of my closest friends, Katrina, was hosting a women’s event called The Working Woman. I stepped out on faith and asked if I could contribute lip glosses to the swag bags.

​

That single yes was the birth of LipRelish by Tam.

​

The very first gloss I created for the public is still on my website today — affectionately named The Working Woman.

And it still means everything to me.

A fun fact about me — I’m also a published author. I co-authored a prayer journal titled The Blueprint to Building a Healthier You, One Prayer at a Time, available on Amazon.
